Title: The Capital Markets Authority Announces Filing a Report with the Prosecutor General Regarding the Occurrence of a Crime
The Capital Markets Authority announces filing a report with the Prosecutor General and a complaint with the Electronic and Cyber Crime Combating Department on 21/8/2024 regarding the occurrence of the crime stipulated under Article No. (150) of Law No. 7 of 2010 Regarding the Establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and Regulating Securities Activities and its amendments, Items (6) and (7) of Article (21) of Law No. 3 of 2006 Regarding Press and Publications, Article (6) of Law No. 63 of 2015 Regarding Combating Cyber Crimes, and Article (18) of Law No. 8 of 2016 Regarding the Regulation of Electronic Media. On 11/08/2024, the defendant published confidential information not available to the public and required protection by Law through his account on the social communication website (Snapchat) and republished the information through his account on the social communication website (Instagram), which made the document in circulation through (WhatsApp) application on a large scale.
The CMA has verified the leak and publishing of those confidential documents internally and externally and reviewed its technical systems and its information security and concluded with the soundness of procedures followed in this regard.
