Title: Press Release by the Capital Markets Authority Regarding Money Expo Kuwait 2023
Kuwait, November 23, 2023 – In continuation of the educational and regulatory role played by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) in raising awareness among market participants about the risks and benefits of investing in securities, in addition to providing protection for investors and ensuring compliance with the laws and regulations related to this activity, the CMA would like to draw the investor’s attention of the importance of exercising extreme caution when investing and dealing with entities that are unlicensed by the CMA to practice securities activities. It should be noted that not all participating entities in the exposition have obtained the necessary licenses to date, as the CMA is taking all the legal measures on their regard in implementation of Article (126) of Law No. 7 of 2010 Regarding the Establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and Regulating Securities Activities and its amendments.
On this occasion, the CMA urges all citizens and residents who are considering investing their money to the importance of ensuring that the entities participating in the exposition have obtained the necessary licenses in order to protect their finances and investments.

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) of Kuwait was established pursuant to Law No. 7 of 2010 Regarding the Establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and Regulating Securities Activities, and its amendments, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Under this Law, the CMA regulates and supervises securities activities, ensures transparency, fairness, efficiency, and observes listed companies’ implementation of Corporate Governance regulations. The CMA also protects investors from unfair practices and violations of the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law stipulates the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs pertaining to securities activities.
