In line with CMA's endeavour to protect persons dealing in securities activities, and in order to ensure compliance with its enforced legislations mentioned in Law No. 7 of 2010 on the Establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and Regulating Securities Activities, in addition to the related Executive Bylaw and other issued decisions, it reminds all listed companies subject to the provisions of Regulations No. (C.M.A./M.R.S./C.F./6/2013) issued on 30/12/2013 on Regulating Shareholding Companies Purchase of their Shares (Treasury Shares) and the Method of their Use and Disposal of the importance of complying with such Regulations, in particular the provisions of Article Four – Clause Tenth – which states that "All companies listed on the securities exchange shall submit a quarterly report to the CMA which includes all transactions in its own shares for the time period that the report covers; along with a statement of balance of the treasury shares balance certified by the clearing agency. The report must be submitted within a maximum of ten business days from the end of the period specified above."
The CMA urges all companies listed in the securities exchange subject to these Regulations to comply with their provisions. They must submit the required report to the CMA within the specified period which does not exceed ten business days starting from the end of the present quarter of the financial year. This shall be conducted according to the forms and mechanisms approved by the CMA in order to ensure the enforcement of the legislations and the protection of the interests of companies and persons dealing in securities activities. Violators of these Regulations may face punitive accountability according to Law No. 7 of 2010 and its Executive Bylaw.
