Kuwait, 29th March 2014 – The second phase of the first training program for recent Kuwaiti graduates, which is organized and sponsored by the Capital Markets Authority, was launched with the arrival of 20 trainees to Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital on 1st March 2014. The trainees were accompanies by the concerned Authority's officials in order to launch a series of programs and workshops in the fields of regulation, supervision, and financial analysis. It was organized by the Capital Markets Authority in cooperation with the Malaysian counterpart. The program includes a practical training in the Capital Markets Authority and the Securities Exchange in Malaysia. The aim of the practical training is to gain benefit from the Malaysian experience in the field of capital markets regulation.
The trainees met the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Malaysia Mr. Saad Al-Asousi in the training center, where he attended part of the workshop. In his speech, he commended on the Authority's initiative of training the Kuwaiti youth, and he encouraged exchanging experiences between Kuwait and Malaysia.
The ambassador lauded the trainees' keenness on learning from this program. In addition, officials from the Capital Markets Authority held several meetings with their counterparts from the Malaysian Capital Markets Authority to discuss the mutual topics and exchange information related to developing the capital markets.
It is worth mentioning that the program recruited distinguished new graduates from capital markets related majors which are (Financing – Economy – Accountancy – Business Management - Operations Management/Quantitative Methods - Financial Mathematics – Law).
The program was launched on 8th December 2013. The first phase lasted for three months inside Kuwait. It included the theoretical part. It consisted of programs that prepare trainees to work in the financial and administrative fields, while the practical part included training in the headquarters of the Capital Markets Authority, Kuwait Stock Exchange, and Kuwait Clearing Company.
