Kuwait, 10th March 2014 – Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and Executive Manager of the CMA Mr. Saleh Mubarak Al-Falah met the trainees of the First Training Programme for New Graduates which was organized by the Authority. He was accompanied by Dr. Mahdy Al-Jazaf – Vice Chairman of the CMA Board of Commissioners, and Mr. Abas Nazar – Head of the Corporate Resources Sector. This meeting concludes the first phase of the training program which lasted for three months. It included a theoretical part and consisted of intensified lectures. While the practical part included training at Kuwait Stock Exchange and the Authority. The Chairman has commended the trainers' efforts and the trainees' keenness in attending and gaining benefit from the program. At the end, the trainees expressed their appreciation for such a useful program.
The second phase included training outside Kuwait for two months in the Securities Industry Development Corporation (SIDC) which is part of the Malaysian Securities Commission. The trainees were accompanied by members from the Authority to arrange and facilitate the training process.
It is worth mentioning that the program was launched in December 2013 and it lasts until the end of April 2014. It is the Authority's first training program for new graduates and it recruited persons from different majors (Finance – Economy – Accountancy – Business Management - Financing – Economy – Accountancy – Business Management - Operations Management/Quantitative Methods - Financial Mathematics – Law)

The Capital Markets Authority was established pursuant to Law No. 7/2010, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Pursuant to the Law, the Authority shall regulate and supervise the securities activities, achieve transparency and fairness, oblige the listed companies to execute the Corporate Governance Principles, and protect the investors from the unfair practices which violate the Authority's Law.
Furthermore, the Law's provisions stipulate the supervision of the merger, acquisition, and disclosure operations. The Authority also aims at providing awareness programmes related to securities activities.
