Date Publish
01 October 2026
Kuwait, October 1, 2026 - The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) participates -for the sixth consecutive year- in the events of the World Investor Week, organized annually by a committee formed by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) starting from 2017, aiming to achieve two main goals: first, raising investors awareness and promoting their financial literacy and educational opportunities, and the second goal is protecting them. In addition to other goals, such as reinforcing cooperation among members of the Organization in achieving both goals previously mentioned.
CMA’s participation in this event -the sixth of its kind since its first participation in the fifth version of the event in 2021- aligns with the CMA’s objectives to establish an active presence in various relevant regional and international forums. It featured an awareness campaign that involved broadcasting tailored awareness messages across the CMA’s social media accounts, specifically developed for this occasion to address the themes of this year's event.
The "World Investor Week" event serves as an annual global campaign lasting for a week, promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). Members and supporters of the organization across six continents participate by offering a range of activities, such as launching services and communication channels targeted at investors, organizing competitions to enhance awareness of investor education initiatives, and conducting awareness-raising workshops within the same framework.
The CMA plans to run an awareness program throughout October, ahead of this year's international event scheduled for October 5–11, 2026, focusing on three main themes aligned with the World Investor Week, which are:
• Investor Resilience: Raising awareness of the resilience traits to be owned by the investors to protect their investments and handle market fluctuations, specifically knowledge, action plans for both rising and falling markets, and investment diversification.
• Digital Deception: Introducing digital deception and deepfake methods driven by artificial intelligence, including voice and image manipulation, fake videos, and other online fraud techniques that evolve alongside rapid tech development.
• Financial Fraud: Raising awareness of financial fraud practices, methods, and tools, along with the steps to be taken by investors to avoid falling victim to fraudulent practices and misleading behaviors.
Finally, CMA invites all those interested in securities activities to follow and participate in this international initiative's events, and learn about issues affecting their investment decisions, which is also an opportunity for beginners to learn and empower in their financial journey as part of a global initiative prioritizing informed and conscious investing.
