Title: CMA Concludes Last Awareness Event of 2016

Kuwait, December 27, 2016 - CMA concluded the last awareness event for the year 2016 on Tuesday December 27. It was held according to the usual mechanism of CMA awareness workshops at the Market Building in Khaled Al-Kharafi Hall at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays on the set dates of the program. The final awareness workshop program for 2016 covered “Comparison Between Indices of Applicable Stock Prices in Boursa Kuwait and the Best Alternatives”.

The CMA representatives in the final workshop were as follows:

- Dr. Mahmoud A. Bushehri - Director of Studies & Capital Markets Developments Department.

- Mr. Ahmad Aljeraiwi – Specialist / Studies & Capital Markets Developments Department.

- Mr. Khaled Alsaqer – Director of Awareness Office

The workshop covered various aspects, as the most important being:

• Overview of the stock prices indices and the importance of the existence of accurate indices in the securities markets.
• Indices calculation method and comparing the price index with the weighted index of Boursa Kuwait.
• Indices used in GCC capital markets.

The CMA’s awareness events of 2016 and the workshops program which was launched last November, came to an end. It included different activities and events like organizing forums, training programs in addition to publishing numerous awareness publications and on the contents of the awareness page on the CMA website.

It should be noted that CMA is preparing an innovative awareness program to be executed in 2017, some of which includes new initiatives targeting different groups in society, which will be announced later. It hopes that the concerned parties will participate in the discussions to achieve the desired awareness goals related to securities issues. The CMA also welcomes all questions and queries on various issues related to its different activities.
