The Capital Markets Authority Continues its Awareness Workshops Program
Kuwait, October 18 2016 – The Capital Markets Authority concluded its awareness workshops program for the current financial year 2016/2017 through a workshop that focused on “Regulating Dealing in Securities for Insiders” on Tuesday 18/10/2016.
It should be noted that this awareness program is limited to four workshops which launched last September. It is organized in accordance with the adopted mechanism for awareness programs at the Authority, at the same place and time at Khaled Al-Kharafi Hall on Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m.
The workshops addressed various topics such as “Material Information and the Mechanism of their Disclosure”, “Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism”, “Competitive Acquisition”, and concluded with “Regulating Dealing in Securities for Insiders” through various aspects:
- Applicable regulation which deals with regulating dealing in securities for insiders.
- Definition of insiders and inside information
- Scope of application, responsibilities of listed companies and insiders
- Periods for banning trading
- List of insiders
- Disclosure of insiders at listed companies
- Noncompliance
CMA representatives in the awareness workshop were:

Finally, the Capital Markets Authority is pleased to give its thanks and appreciation to all the participants in the events of the awareness program in particular for the conclusion of its awareness program, it should be noted that the upcoming program is under preparation and it is shall be executed on the next stage according to the adopted mechanism. The events of the program will be announced as soon as it is approved.
