CMA LAW: Press Release: The Capital Markets Authority Announces the Resumption of Trading in Boursa Kuwait

Kuwait, March 1, 2026 – Pursuant to the requirements of the public interest and in pursuit of the CMA to carry out its regulatory and legislative roles within its powers determined by Law No. 7 of 2010, the CMA has issued its Resolution No. (24) of 2026 Regarding the Resumption of Trading in Boursa Kuwait starting from March 02, 2026.
Moreover, the CMA has previously announced on Sunday, March 1, 2026, the suspension of trading in Boursa Kuwait (for one day) due to the turbulent -ongoing- regional circumstances and uncertainty witnessed by the region.
The Resolution of resumption of trading in the Exchange is a result of the CMA’s evaluation of the situations and ensuring the integrity of the capital market system and the ability of the market participants to carry out work according to the required mechanism within the exceptional circumstances.
In this regard, the CMA confirms that it will continue following up the developments of the regional conditions closely in order to take the necessary measures according to the latest developments.
The CMA also draws the attention of those concerned with securities activities of the importance of following its resolutions and procedures which it will announce consecutively as the situations evolve.

The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) of Kuwait was established pursuant to Law No. 7 of 2010 Regarding the Establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and Regulating Securities Activities, and its amendments, approved by the Kuwaiti Parliament in February 2010. Under this Law, the CMA regulates and supervises securities activities, ensures transparency, fairness, efficiency, and observes listed companies’ implementation of Corporate Governance regulations. The CMA also protects investors from unfair practices and violations of the CMA's Law.
Furthermore, the Law stipulates the supervision of mergers, acquisitions, and disclosure operations. The CMA also aims to provide awareness programs pertaining to securities activities.
